This antique carpet is a magnificent example of Ziegler weaving from the 19th century, It has all the elements which are looked for in Zieglers: large colourful medallions in an uncluttered open mid-blue field, a wide border and for its age very good condition. This carpet has had some reweaving which has been superbly executed and is almost undetectable.
